I’m feelin’ some “Real Love” for Beach House’s Teen Dream.
-
It’s been a good year for Beach House, they’ve signed with Sub Pop (Hello? Nirvana’s label) and they’ve got a new album to coming out this January. They released “Norway” from their album Teen Dream to give us a taste of what’s to come.
My love affair with Beach House began when I got to check out their show last December at Williamsburg Music Hall in Brooklyn. On my trip out to California, it was perfect road trip music for the scenic drive along the coast. Beach House evokes the warm vibes of the west coast (and they’re not even from there, they’re from Baltimore).
With “Norway,” Beach House speeds it up a bit. There are echos of their “Swedish” neighbors, ABBA. It’s definitely a wake up from they’re sleepy bellows.
